As we sit here towards the end of March, there’s a renewed sense of hope in the air. The last 12 or 13 months have been extremely difficult for all of us in different ways, and now, one year on from the start of the pandemic, it seems that finally there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve designed our SS21 collection with this newfound hopefulness in mind. Whether the wardrobe of The Talented Mr. Ripley or the ‘jet set’ portraits of Slim Aarons, we’ve drawn on our favourite films and photographers to shape a collection that’s perfect for everything from 48-hour business trips to a fortnight’s escape in the sun. As always, tailoring is the heart of the collection and we’ve designed a mixture of lightweight suits and separates to take you through the season. Standout pieces include a handsome dark navy double-breasted suit in superfine Italian linen, our pistachio green single-breasted blazer, and elegant saffron coloured double-breasted jacket in softly textured wool, silk and linen. Each of this season’s jackets have been buggy lined and lightly constructed with natural shoulders, so they’re comfortable to wear in warm weather. Of course, the wedding season is fast approaching, and we’ve designed some pieces for the big day too; these include a cream double-breasted shawl collar tuxedo jacket in lightweight wool gabardine, and a French navy lightweight fresco suit with trim peaked lapels, either of which will make a sharp statement for grooms or guests alike. As you’d expect, the collection’s colour palette is grounded in versatile shades of navy, sky blue and cream, with pale green and khaki accents running through. Warm weather calls for a softer palette so we’ve also explored cognac and tan colours in our separates and casualwear. One of this season’s signature casual jackets is our new butterscotch suede safari jacket, which works beautifully with white jeans and a complimentary polo or T-shirt in khaki green. We’ve also expanded the casual side of the collection. From our luxurious spread collar linen polos and cooling knitted T-shirts, through to this season’s linen overshirt in either ecru or navy, SS21 is filled with lightweight layering pieces that are easy to mix and match. We’ve also introduced our new relaxed fit pleated chinos in washed cotton twill, which are that little bit easier through the leg and offer a timeless mid-century aesthetic. Try these with one of our striped poplin camp collar shirts for a simple pairing that will take you anywhere this spring. Our new season footwear has been designed to work seamlessly with the collection too; from casual sand-coloured suede loafers made in England by Crockett & Jones to Italian-made sand suede sneakers, each pair is considered, comfortable and beautifully made. Above all, SS21 is designed to be elegant and yet relaxed, with pieces that will see you through the season either at home or abroad, in the boardroom or at the hotel bar. We hope you enjoy exploring the season, we’re looking forward to showing you our favourite pieces in person soon. With best wishes, Thom & Luke
