What to expect

Each appointment is private and unhurried — typically an hour, often longer. There is no obligation to commission, only the chance to experience our work first-hand.

Welcome

You arrive at a private suite reserved for the day. Coffee, an espresso or a glass of something — and a quiet conversation about how you live and dress.

Cloth & cut

We present the season’s Bespoke and Made-to-Measure cloth alongside the Ready-to-Wear collection — formal evening wear through to relaxed leisure.

Measure & order

Our tailors take your measurements and establish your personal profile, holding existing orders and informing those to come.

Three ways to be dressed

Every garment begins in the same atelier on Old Burlington Street.

I. Bespoke

A garment, drawn for you alone.

Each bespoke commission begins with a paper pattern, handcrafted using over twenty unique body measurements. Our cutters create the pattern specifically for you, before we refine the fit through an average of three fittings. Around eighty hours of hand work goes into every garment.

Choose your style, fabric, lining and finishing details. Our house style balances the structure and precision of English tailoring with the ease and softness of Italian craftsmanship, creating a suit that feels light, modern and wearable, while retaining a refined and timeless silhouette.

Our bespoke garments are made entirely in our London workrooms by dedicated cutters, coatmakers, trouser-makers and finishers, using traditional tailoring techniques and time-honoured handwork.

Unique to you, made from your own pattern and refined through the fitting process.

II. Made to measure

Our house cut, made for you.

Built upon our signature block and tailored to your measurements — a considered route into Thom Sweeney with the same attention to fabric and finish.

We begin by taking your initial measurements, before inviting you to try on one of our master garments. This allows us to refine the fit and establish precise specifications for your garment.

Choose your style, fabric, lining and finishing details. We adjust the shoulder, chest, waist, sleeve and trouser length, before a first fitting allows for any small adjustments. Your finished garment is then ready for collection.

The result: a wardrobe that feels personal, without the longer commitment of bespoke.
